Fringe by the Sea will be bringing all the magic of Scotland’s Outstanding Festival*
to the Genesis Scottish Open 2024.

The Fringe by the Tee pop up stage will appear at the heart of the Genesis Scottish Open fan village from the 10th to the 14th of July 2024, creating a family-friendly entertainment experience at Scotland’s highest profile golf tournament.

Tee Talks with Fred MacAulay

Golf mad Comedian, and BBC Scotland Radio presenter Fred MacAulay will be hosting our daily, lunchtime Tee Talks. He’ll be inviting past and present players to the stage along with celebrity sporting fans and entertaining us with his great chat as well as some audience fun and games.

Deacon Blue’s

Thursday 11th July
6pm – 8pm

Deacon Blue’s are the world’s number 1 tribute to Deacon Blue. This Scottish based tribute will have you singing and dancing all night, as they weave their way through the villages & towns of the band’s decades of hits including Dignity, Real Gone Kid, Chocolate Girl, Fergus Sings the Blues and many more.

Pat Nevin (DJ Set)

Friday 12th July
7pm – 9pm

Pat Nevin the former Chelsea, Everton and Scotland footballer who bamboozled all with his tricky wing play in the 80s and 90s will be spinning some of his favourite tracks for us at Fringe by the Tee.  He’ll be playing sounds from a whole host of artists across the decades of his career including The Smiths, Pulp and New Order.

Edith Bowman (DJ Set)

Saturday 13th July
7pm – 9pm

Fife born radio DJ and television presenter Edith Bowman will be spinning the tunes for our Saturday evening. She’ll be bringing her 20 years of experience on all the major radio stations and her passion and in-depth knowledge of music to the visitors village at the Genesis Scottish Open. Expect plenty of uplifting, happy tunes from across the decades to sing and dance along to.

Kaiser Matt (DJ Set)

Wednesday 10th – Friday 12th July

2pm – 4pm

Sescot Radio DJ Matt plays from original 45s with wild beat, R’n’B, soul, and instrumentals you can shimmy, shake and twist along to.

Alexander the Great

Wednesday 10th – Sunday 14th July
1.30pm – 2pm

Come and join award-winning Alexander the Great for some interactive circus skills, disco dancing, party games and magic tricks. Try your hand at plate-spinning and juggling, bag yourself a balloon animal, or just enjoy a dance with prizes for the winners!

Miss Mixtape

Friday 12th & Saturday 13th July
5.30pm – 7pm

Becca (aka Miss Mixtape) is the proud owner of Orange Moon Record Store based upstairs in Steampunk Coffee, North Berwick and has been DJing for over 12 years. She’ll be delivering a veritable feast of house, hip hop, funk, soul and disco.

Jazzmain Quartet

Sunday 14th July
12pm – 1pm
2pm – 3pm

Our Sunday lunchtime slot will be delivered by Scotland’s innovative jazz quartet, blazing a trail for that rich seam of post-bop jazz, redolent of the 50s and 60s – a time when jazz emerged from the ‘underground’ – those small, dark n’ smoky subterranean haunts of downtown New York, and into the big time when the West Coast ‘Cool’ post-Bop movement brought the music into the mainstream.

Messenger Sound System

Sunday 14th July
3pm onwards

Spend a Sunday afternoon in the company of Messenger Sound System playing a cool and relaxing style DJ set with MCs Afrikan Simba and Ista Lion + full Messenger crew in the area.

Established in Edinburgh in 1987, Messenger Sound System were the first independent high powered, heavy duty sound system operating north of the border. Resident at Edinburgh’s Bongo Club and playing throughout the UK, Messenger have been holding the Roots and Culture corner from generation to generation – with a fire currently burning as bright as ever!

This partnership brings together the very best of East Lothian events into one shared space.
