GETTING HERE

We would strongly encourage our visitors to consider the most environmentally friendly way of getting to the festival. The  majority of FBTS events are held at the festival hub at the Lodge Grounds,  2C East Rd, North Berwick, EH39 4HN. Please check event listings/ticket details for specific venues and details of around town events.

ScotRail offer regular rail services from Edinburgh to North Berwick return.

For Fringe by the Sea 2024, ScotRail be running a special midnight service (00.01hrs) from North Berwick to Edinburgh daily (other than Sundays) calling at all stations (Drem, Longniddry, Prestonpans, Wallyford, Musselburgh) throughout the festival. On Sunday 4th August and Sunday 11th August, the service will depart at 22:20.

ScotRail online timetables may not show this special midnight train but ScotRail say this will be updated in the app at the time of the festival. Please note ScotRail have a temporary timetable in place. Please check your journey before travelling.

East Coast Buses offer regular bus services. Timetables for the X5, 124 and N124 services can be viewed here:

The N124 nightbus operates through the night on a Saturday and Sunday.  This service is ideal should you wish to book a late show and take public transport to stops throughout East Lothian and Edinburgh and will be a double decker.

Eve Coaches too is extending their timetable on both Fridays and Saturdays to ensure there’s a last bus home for those heading to Dunbar and Haddington.

23:10 North Berwick to Dunbar

Service 121 – Friday and Saturday
19:15 Haddington to North Berwick
20:15 North Berwick to Haddington

23:15 North Berwick to Haddington

For those living in or near to town, we would highly recommend walking or cycling to the festival. North Berwick is on the John Muir Way – a good cycle and walking route into and around the town.

Car parking is limited during busy periods so please consider parking on the outskirts of town and walking into the centre or leaving the car at home.

If you’re looking for a parking space, www.northberwickparking.org.uk offers a map of locations including electric charging points.

The nearest free parking is at North Berwick High School.
