Illustrator Eilidh Muldoon announced as FBTS21 Artist in Residence

Edinburgh based Illustrator Eilidh Muldoon, who grew up in North Berwick, has been chosen as FBTS’s first ever Artist in Residence.

As well as developing new visuals which will be displayed around North Berwick in the run up to and during the festival, Eilidh is leading a community art project – FBTS21 ART CLUB –  and will present workshops and events as part of the programme.

After gaining an undergraduate degree in Art History, Eilidh went on to study MFA Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art. She has illustrated colouring and activity books for Birlinn, Arcturus and Nosy Crow as well as many book covers, and she is specifically interested in pattern, the decorative arts and the power of images to enhance storytelling.

Eilidh said: “I’m thrilled to be the first ever Artist in Residence for Fringe By The Sea, especially as North Berwick is my much-loved hometown. I’ll be injecting some extra vibrancy into the festival experience for visitors to enjoy in August – expect bright bursts of colour and pattern. In the run up to the festival, we’re also encouraging people to get creative as part of the FBTS21 Art Club. I can’t wait to see the pieces created and help select those for exhibition.”
