‘Ska-gull’ takes centre stage for 2024 programme
Emily Barnes of Cockenzie Primary School is the winner of our 2024 Fringe by the Sea front cover competition with her funky seagull design – well done Emily!
We received hundreds of entries from school pupils across East Lothian with some brilliant designs featuring the festival, North Berwick and self-portraits of the pupils enjoying a festival moment.
‘It was a really tough job to choose a winner but Emily’s punky seagull – which we have nicknamed ‘Ska-Gull’ made us chuckle. It’s a fun and bold design and captures the spirit of Fringe by the Sea perfectly! We’d like to thank each and every pupil who took time to design a poster, we really enjoyed looking through all the entries.’ Jackie Shuttleworth, FBTS General Manager.
Emily said she was inspired to draw a seagull as there are so many in North Berwick and she thought it’d be funny.
Emily wins £100 of FBTS vouchers and her design features on the front cover of the programme, with 30,000 copies printed and distributed. A shortlist of runner-up entries will be on display at this year’s FBTS in North Berwick from 2-11 August. The full programme is now on sale with a host of family friendly activities…
